Henry Hints
How do I fit a replacement vacuum bag?
1. Pull out the two black clips holding the top of the machine to the coloured drum and lift off the machine top. Lift out the white filter and remove the dust bag from the tube in the drum. The vacuum bag has a sealing tab, which allows you to keep the dust in the bag. Push the sealing tab in to seal the hole and dispose of the bag in your usual rubbish.
2. Take a new bag and make sure the bag is not stuck together by putting a finger into the hole (rubber seal) and opening the bag with your fingers.
3. Fit the rubber seal over the tube inside the drum and refit the white filter on top and replace the machine top. Lock the top on by knocking the two black clips inwards.
How often do I change a vacuum bag and can I reuse it?
Once the machine has become full or has low suction, replace the vacuum bag. The vacuum bags have been designed to be sealed and disposed of with your usual rubbish; they are not reusable.
How do I clean the white filter?
Pull out the two black clips holding the top of the machine to the coloured drum and lift off the machine top.
Lift out the white filter.
Place the filter into an empty rubbish bag and shake the dust from the filter into the bag.
Refit the white filter and machine top. Lock the top on by knocking the two black clips inwards.
How do I wash the white filter and bag?
The white filter and bag are not washable.
My Henry has very low suction and the motor sounds high pitched.
Sounds like your Henry has a blockage in the hose or the vacuum bag is full. Follow the steps to replace your vacuum bag first:
1. Pull out the two black clips holding the top of the machine to the coloured drum and lift off the machine top. Lift out the white filter and remove the vacuum bag from the tube in the drum. The vacuum bag has a sealing tab, which allows you to keep the vacuum in the bag.
If your Henry is still making a high pitched noise you may have a blockage in the vacuum hose. Disconnect the hose from the main vacuum, by unscrewing Henry’s nose to the left.
If a blockage is not visible at either end of the hose, take a $1 coin and drop into the hose to see if it falls through to the other end. If not, there is a blockage.
The metal wand attachment may also have a blockage. The wand can be pulled apart into three pieces, check each piece for a blockage and remove if necessary. Put the wand pieces back together.
To remove a blockage from the black hose, try squeezing the hose to locate the blockage. Bend and squeeze the hose around the blockage to release the item. Once the blockage is removed, refit the hose and switch on. You may also be able to loosen the item causing the blockage and suck it straight up the hose.
If your floor tool becomes blocked, remove the tool from the vacuum tube and gently insert a soft pipe brush to help dislodge any potential blockage.
My Henry has been running for a long time and it has stopped working.
Henry is fitted with a thermal cut out. If it has been running for an extended period of time , the overload will cut in and stop Henry from working until he has cooled down.
My Henry cable is broken, how do I fix it?
As the cable is an electrical component, it will need to be replaced by a qualified electrical service engineer. Please contact us at support@myhenry.com.au for details of your nearest authorised repair centre.
How do I fit accessories onto my hose?
The accessories kit which came with your vacuum contains a tapered adaptor to fit the vacuum hose. This adaptor will fit each accessory on to your vacuum hose as required.
Why are there two settings on my floor tool?
The two settings on the floor tool allow the brushes in the floor tool to go in and out for use on either carpets or hard floors. The bristles should be in for carpets and out for hard floors.
My Airobrush has slowed down or stopped working.
Occasionally, your AiroBrush may collect hairs or fibres that will slow or even stop the bristle bar. Remove the tangle by cutting across, being careful not to cut the bristles. Watch the video to see how.

WHY HAS MY HENRY QUICK'S FLOOR BRUSH STOPPED SPINNING?
Very high pile carpets or rugs can cause high pressure on the brush which will cause it to safely cut out and prevent damage to the components. Please use Henry Quick without the brush activated on high pile carpets and rugs. Henry Quick is equipped with a removable brush roll to allow easy removal of hair and debris from the floor tool. WHY WON'T MY HENRY QUICK TURN ON?
